Tehran SAMA quoted Javad Shoushtari, managing director of Tehran Beautification Organization, as saying that the goal of the event is to have an academic approach to environmental graphics and “we will do our best to hold the next edition as an international event. Meanwhile, Tehran Beautification Organization has also held a number of domestic symposiums on sculpture.”
The official said since 1975, murals have been lagging behind other fields of environmental art, but Tehran Beautification Organization has taken measures to identify and record murals in Tehran and publish them in a book.
He added that the organization followed a research approach and 222 scientific projects have been implemented with 150 nongovernmental organizations activated whose members include students of sculpture, graphics, industrial design and painting.
The first biennial of murals and environmental graphics has three sections on graphical works, equipment and materials and specialist meetings will be held on its sidelines.
