Mehdi Golmakani, Tehran Municipality’s director general for health, told Tehran SAMA that that April 6 is the World Health Day and marks the beginning of health week in Iran. This year, the day is designated for senior citizens and Tehran Municipality has considered relevant programs.
He added that 10,000 aged members of health houses came from 374 neighborhoods to Velayat Park to meet with minister of health, her deputies and senior officials of Tehran Municipality. They also took part in a walking contest and 100 of them were given gifts.
The official said health villages were established in 22 districts of Tehran and, in addition, street performances, health tours, as well as sports and cultural competitions were held to mark the occasion.
