Tehran mayor says Tehran Municipality is indebted to honest efforts of workers and staff who are working anonymously and the Labor Day is just an excuse to laud their efforts. During this year's Labor Day, Tehran mayor praised 500 staff of Tehran Municipality and visited various parts of the city.


Tehran SAMA quoted Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf as saying that workers are embodiment of steadfastness and faith and he believes form the bottom of his heart that all civil efforts of Tehran Municipality are successful due to workers' endeavors.

The mayor said kissing the hands of a worker by Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) proves their high status.

Hossein Mohammad Pourzandi, deputy mayor for finance and administration, also said paying salaries of municipal workers is a major concern for Tehran Municipality.

Tribute was also paid to families of four martyred workers as well as 550 exemplary ones. Ahmad Rabbani, a street sweeper who recently gave back one billion tomans of lost money to its owner, was awarded 5 million tomans in aid and a Hajj pilgrimage trip.
