Explaining the Macroeconomic Role of Tehran Metropolis in National Power

National power as a geopolitical concept reflects characteristics and collective features of people of a nation and simultaneously manifests as an individual feature in relation to a country or a government. Therefore, the setup of individuals who form a nation which, within a country, has achieved political organization enjoys power which has been obtained through their combined force and could be seen as national power of that country or nation.

Abstract
National power as a geopolitical concept reflects characteristics and collective features of people of a nation and simultaneously manifests as an individual feature in relation to a country or a government. Therefore, the setup of individuals who form a nation which, within a country, has achieved political organization enjoys power which has been obtained through their combined force and could be seen as national power of that country or nation.
People are an important element in any government. In other words, the government should have its population otherwise it would not be called government. The issue of population is among topics of sociology, population geography and human geography but its political effectiveness in political geography would be examined. Population and its characteristics are considered an effective factor in development and national power.
Some factors and variables such as the number of population may have a positive performance in a country but a negative application in another.  But, the large population in Tehran with regard to the trend of changes it has experienced since the past up to now, has not enjoyed a clear condition in qualitative and quantitative terms. In the absence of planning it is seen as a speck in the geographical area of the country which has faced the country with basic challenges at national level.
In this research work through descriptive-analytic method the role of the large population in Tehran in national power has been examined and results show that the performance of Tehran metropolis with its present population is negative in national power.
