The welcome accorded to Ramadan Festival was beyond expectation of the organizers. Over 300 thousand people attended the festival and enjoyed its programs.
According to Tehran SAMA, Managing Director of Tehran Milad Tower Farzad Houshyar Parsian said: “In the early days when we were planning for the festival our expectation was that between two to three thousand people would attend the festival each day. But, people accorded a warm welcome to the festival and statistics show some 20 to 25 thousand people attended the festival per day. Altogether 320,672 citizens watched our programs during the festival.”
Houshyar Parsian added: “Many of the citizens have announced in their comments that Ramadan nights at Milad tower were live, spiritual and at the same time happy nights. Among programs performed at Tehran Milad Tower the workshop for moon sighting, paintball competitions for reporters, Quran nights with the participation of Quran reciters, and Ramadan Festival Heritage of Muslims, which was held with the participation of representatives from Islamic countries, could be cited.”
He pointed to the holding of Afghan Night and Ardebili Night at Milad Tower and said: “On August 5 the Afghan Night was held at Milad Tower and on July 26 the night of the Ardebilis was observed which was enthusiastically welcomed. This date which coincides with establishment of the Safavid Dynasty is marked as the National Day of Ardebil in the cultural calendar of the country.”
