International Exhibition of Works of Stuckist Artists in Tehran International Exhibition of Works of Stuckist Artists in Tehran

Tehran in the current week is host to the exhibition of works by Stuckist artists from Iran and a number of other countries. The exhibition was opened in the presence of Arts Deputy of Culture and Islamic Guidance Ministry at Dey Gallery on Friday, November 15.

According to ISNA, the deputy minister Ali Moradkhani while inspecting the exhibition said: "Display of the works of the artists from five countries beside the Iranian artists is an outstanding characteristic of the exhibition. The fact that the Dey Gallery with an international outlook has put the works of artists from other countries is a praiseworthy measure. Works at the exhibition in addition to paying attention to painting techniques have also taken the context into consideration."

The exhibition has put works of the Iranian artists as well as those from the US, Britain, Turkey, Spain, South Africa and Pakistan on display at Dey Gallery. The exhibition will continue work until November 25.

Stuckism is an international art movement which aims to promote figurative painting vis-à-vis conceptual art and the first Stuckism group started its activities in London.

The Stuckist group of Tehran was formed in 2007 and the first Stuckism exhibition was held at the Artists House of Iran in 2010.
