An Urban Symbol Is Renovated An Urban Symbol Is Renovated

Renovation of Seyed Khandan flyover started in later days of the past Iranian year (ended March 19) and is supposed to end October this year to relive a major urban symbol in Tehran.

Tehran SAMA quoted Ramezan Mir-Abbasi, District 7 mayor, as saying that the project has progressed 40 percent and is planned to end before October and reopening of schools.

He added that considering a place for taxis, prayers room, and toilets as well as improving sidewalk around the flyover are parts of the project. The current taxi terminal will expand 25 percent and 5 BRT lines will cross over the flyover.

District 7 mayor further noted that after the project is finished, Seyed Khandan flyover will turn into a major urban symbol with recreational space below it. Its visual aspects will also improve in addition to improvement of access ramps to major streets around it, including Shariati Avenue. He noted that the project remains no blind spot in and around the flyover and any person which may cause nuisance for citizens will be banned from entering the vicinity.
