According to Fars News Agency, this year’s exhibition will continue until May 28 over 38,000 square meters hosting 403 domestic companies and 220 foreign firms or their representatives from 27 countries.
About 47 percent of domestic participants in Iran Agro Food 2012 take part in food section which covers food products, conversion industries, and other related industries. Some 34 percent are in food tech section consisting of machinery, food technology, packaging and accessory equipment, and machinery. The agro section covers agricultural and irrigation machinery, as well as agricultural inputs and industries.
Austria, Germany, Italy, Spain, France, Thailand, Turkey, Sri Lanka and India are represented in this year’s fair in addition to companies from Slovakia, the United Arab Emirates, Britain, Brazil, Belgium, Portugal, Taiwan, China, Denmark, Japan, Sweden, Switzerland, Finland, Canada, South Korea, Poland and the Netherlands.
Known as Agro Food Iran, the International Exhibition on Food & Food Technology in Tehran has been held since 1994 to introduce specialists in food and agricultural industries to the latest technologies, provide an opportunity for direct contact and healthy competition among them and to pave the way for new innovations.
