Tehran mayor has inspected four major cultural projects in the capital city and has been briefed on their progress in the 5-hour visit. They included big Imam Reza (AS) sports complex at Lashgarak, a professional theater, a center of ritualistic performances and Qasr museum and garden.


Tehran SAMA said Mayor Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said in a visit to Qasr museum that the goal of the project is to promote the concept of freedom as a lofty principle in Islam. He added that conceptual and software aspects of Qasr museum reflected the history of the Islamic Revolution up to and after its victory (Feb. 1979).

Asghar Mounesan, managing director of Cultural Spaces Development Company, also noted that professional theater center has an area of 25,200 square meters and a buildup area of 16,330 sq. m. close to Khavaran Cultural Complex. It has a main hall which can accommodate 1,000 people and four experimental theaters each with 150 seats. A puppet show theater can hold 120 people and there is also an open amphitheater for religious plays.

The ritualistic performance center has an area of 5,987 sq. m. and a buildup area of 16,111 sq. m. with two theaters having 600 seats. The center conforms to the latest world standards and is equipped with suitable sound and lighting effects. It has also a restaurant, a teahouse and a parking lot for 110 cars.

Imam Reza (AS) sports complex is located at Lashgarak with an area of 6,063 sq. m. and a buildup area of 55,397 sq. m. which can serve 1,200 users per day.
