Austrian cultural week provided Austrian Ambassador to Tehran Thomas Buchsbam to talk about attractions of the Iranian capital. Cultural weeks are good times to introduce other countries to the Iranian people.

Tehran SAMA reported that Austrian cultural week was held in cooperation with Tehran Municipality’s social and cultural affairs department. It opened on June 9 at Tehran Artists House in the presence of deputy mayor for cultural and social affairs, Mohammad Hadi Ayyazi, Austrian Ambassador to Tehran Thomas Buchsbam and other interested parties.

The Austrian envoy thanked Tehran Mayor Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf for organizing the ceremony noting that the Artists House was a suitable place for introducing the Austrian culture to Iranians.

Mohammad Hadi Ayyazi, for his part, said cultural weeks are good opportunities for cultural interactions and Tehran Municipality has so far held cultural weeks in other countries to introduce their people to religious, cultural and social features of Iran. He added that Austria is an important cultural European country and its acceptance for Islamic activities is a good ground for cooperation with Iran.

The cultural week of Austria fell on June 9 which marks the 100^th anniversary of recognition of Islam in Austria and will continue till June 14.
