According to Shahrnevesht, the loom for weaving the carpet has been installed at the lobby of Milad Tower so that tourists and visitors could weave a knot on the warp and woof of the carpet of the highest tower in the country and a new touristic complex in the capital city.
The ceremony to begin weaving of Milad Tower carpet and presenting the carpet “One Tourist One Knot” would be held on 25 June in the presence of civil officials and representatives of the National UNESCO Commission at Milad Tower.
The report added that another carpet which has been woven in the same manner would be presented during the ceremony. This carpet includes 2,233,000 knots and would be presented to UNESCO.
The carpet “One Tourist One Knot” has been completed in two years time. The weaving of the carpet started in 2010 which was named by UNESCO the international year of proximity of cultures, upon the proposal of officials of this cultural organization at Dowlat Abad Garden in Yazd. The plan was highly welcomed by Nowruz tourists in Yazd Province and each tourist put a knot on the carpet. In this carpet views of Yazd tourism sites such as Dowlat Abad Garden windward, Abarkouh ancient cypress, Jame’Mosque, Meybod Castle, six-windward water storage of Yazd, Amir Chakhmaq Square and Jame’ Mosque of Fafraj have been depicted.
Simultaneously with presentation of the carpet, weaving of Milad Tower carpet would begin as well.
