Tehran Municipality has inaugurated the biggest Iranian theatre hall, named Khavaran, in the presence of the Mayor Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, officials say.
Tehran’s Cultural Spaces Development Company announced that the 27,000-square-meter theater complex came to operation at the city’s southeastern District 15, on February 7, to meet the needs of artists' community.
The City officials, Invited artists, and the audience paid tribute to the 17 firefighters martyred in the Plasco incident during the ribbon cutting ceremony.
The main hall of the center will accommodate 1,000 people. There are two playhouses with different arrangements each for 200 people, a puppet show hall for children and adolescents accommodating 130 people, a movie theater for children and adolescents accommodating 130 people, conference hall, specialized theater library, open spaces, and open performances.
The center is the largest theater center in the country and would be put at the disposal of artists and those interested in theater and music.
This center with an area of 27,960 square meters and under construction area of 16,437 square meters is being built beside Khavaran Cultural House.
