Tehran Mayor calls for allocating governmental budget for renovating public transportation Tehran Mayor calls for allocating governmental budget for renovating public transportation

Tehran Mayor Mohammad Ali Afshani said he has urged Iranian government to allocated 2,000 billion rials budget for renovating public transportation.

Afshani made the remarks in inauguration ceremony of the u-turn of non-level crossing of Modarres Boulevard — which will connect Nelson Mandela Boulevard to Elahieh.

In a letter to Interior Minister Abdolreza Rahmani-Fazli, Afshani said he has also requested government to allocate 5,000 billion rials which was slated to be paid for development of Tehran subway system as soon as possible.

The u-turn will facilitate the flow of citizens from the west to the east of Moddares highway, which will reduce traffic, saving people's time and energy.
