Implementation of several programs for development of public transportation and improvement of services has placed Tehran Bus Company in the center of attention of international organizations. The International Association of Public Transport (L'Union internationale des transports publics) [UITP] has selected Tehran Bus Company as a progressive organization in public transportation and presented it with the “Golden Chariot” award.

Peyman Sanandaji, Managing Director of Tehran Bus Company, told Tehran SAMA: “UITP has selected Tehran Bus Company as a progressive organization in the area of public transportation and has invited us to attend Berlin's largest international transportation exhibition on September 19 and receive the award there.”

Sanandaj added that this international success has been gained on the basis of wide range measures that urban management and the mayor of Tehran have carried out in recent years for development of public transportation in the capital city. “Fortunately, public transportation in Tehran has been able to gain an international award each year.”

The managing director of Tehran Bus Company noted: “UITP has paid attention to features such as transportation development and increase in movement of passengers, development of fleet, timing of departures, organizing lines and, using new and smart technologies such as electronic ticket card in selecting Tehran Bus Company. Progress in the mentioned fields has been achieved with cooperation of private companies and our colleagues at the Bus Company.”
