A new 3-hectare botanical garden has become operational to study the plants, adaptable with Tehran’s climate.
The garden, located in Narenj Park at Tehran’s District 14, protects more than 190 types of plants and is able to produce trees and shrubs that are hearty for the capital.
The designing and constructing of the garden was initiated in 2011.
National Botanical Garden of Iran is the largest Botanical Garden in Tehran in an area around 150 hectares which is the main center for horticulture and plant taxonomy in Iran. There are gardens of non-Iranian plants such as Himalayan, American, Japanese, African, and Australian.
Botanical garden is a place where plants are cultivated for scientific, educational, and ornamental purposes, often including a library, an herbarium, and greenhouses.
