Tehran and Belgrade have signed a
comprehensive agreement in a bid to boost cooperation in the fields of urban
development, sustainable mobility, and management of urban services.
The agreement was signed between
Tehran Mayor Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf and the Belgradian counterpart Siniša Mali
who traveled to Tehran on September 8.
Tehran Mayor pointed to the halt of
relations between the two cities in the last decade and expressed hope to catch
up a standard situation in collaboration between the two metropolises.
The delegation visited Tehran’s
urban infrastructure on September 9 to survey the possibilities of cooperation
in various urban management fields including public transportation, waste and
water management, tourism, environmental issues, and economic and cultural
development.
Mayor of Belgrade said that Belgrade
is willing to be sister city with Tehran in near future.
