According to Tehran SAMA, Deputy Transportation and Traffic of Tehran Municipality Jaafar Hashemi Tashakori said: “With the opening of Ekbatan and Eram-e-Sabz stations residents of this region have been added to the everyday users of metro. We would be witness to an outstanding increase in the number of passengers of Line 4 of the subway. Meanwhile, the first phase of Line 5 of BRT is under construction from Elm-o-Sanat University to Argentine Square within Resalat Highway axis. Some 80% of the route has been separated and by the end of the calendar month of Shahrivar (September 21) and prior to the beginning of the new academic year the eastern half of the route would become operational. We expect that this line would be turned into one of the busiest lines and by connecting to BRT Line 3 many passengers would benefit from this service."
The Municipality official said: “Paying attention to pedestrian and maintaining their safety is among policies of the urban management. In implementing this policy, two underpasses are under construction at Azadi Square one of which with 50% physical progress. The second underpass is also under construction at Azadi Square and by passing under Karaj Special Road, connects northwest of Azadi Square to its south. In addition, a series of measures are being taken in an effort to provide transportation safety on Karaj Special Road. Construction of unleveled intersection instead of current Golha Boulevard accident-prone turn-around is among these measures."
Eram-e-Sabz and Ekbatan stations in the western section of Line 4 of the metro will be officially inaugurated, Sunday July 23.
