WHO delegation in Tehran:
Every part of Tehran Municipality mobilized against Coronavirus
Tehran Disaster Mitigation and Management Organization hosted a four-member delegation from the World Health Organization headquarters to be briefed by Tehran Municipality officials in the battle against Coronavirus.
On March 4th, Tehran Disaster Mitigation and Management Organization hosted a meeting between all of the Municipality officials and a four-member delegation from the World Health Organization (WHO), in which the global experience of the great battle against Coronavirus was shared with the attendees.
Dr. Richard Brennan, Dr. Christoph Hanelmann (WHO representative in I.R), Dr. Abdinasir Abubakar (epidemiology and disease surveillance), and Dr. Andreas Jansen (senior technical advisor) were the members of the WHO team.
All the heads of the different organizations and centers related to Tehran Municipality talked about the measures they have been taking to restrain the contagion of the COVID-19 in the Tehran metropole.
Richard Brennan, the team leader of the WHO delegation, expressed his thoughts on the function of the Tehran Municipality in the battle against Coronavirus after the meeting. ”Here we saw all the different elements of the society, all the different parts of the Tehran Municipality is involved in this work,” he said.
Brennan added: Tehran Municipality is taking full responsibility, and it gives us confidence that we’ll get on top of this issue.
The head of the WHO delegation clarified that ”Although the result is not certain and this virus can still trick us, your contribution is vital, and I want to congratulate you for bringing everyone together because that's exceptional.”
