Although pandemic-related restrictions are in place throughout Tehran, the municipality has managed to find ways to keep its programs ongoing to welcome spring as colorful as it comes.
While the municipality is way busier than ever to keep the city and citizens hale and hearty in the face of the coronavirus outbreak, its programs for the beginning of the spring keep going on.
CAPTION: The tradition of painting eggs date back to a time when people celebrated the spring equinox with offerings and mementos symbolizing rebirth and the beginning of spring.
Keeping social distancing recommendations in effect, Tehran organized several street festivals and events, including the annual egg coloring competition and installation of the gigantic eggs across the city, commissioning more than 100 murals around the city, and planting a thousand sycamore tree saplings on Vali-e-Asr Street.
The city will also be adorned with numerous lighting installations and sculptures while the gardens and parks will be planted with a plethora of flowers.
