A study of statistics shows that in the spring of this year, compared to the same period last year, the air quality in the Iranian capital was favorable for most days.
The director of the monitoring unit of the Tehran Air Quality Control Company said: "This spring had special conditions compared to previous years. The outbreak of the coronavirus caused people to travel to work differently than in the past, especially for students. The reduction in working hours and the non-implementation of traffic plans on most days of this season were other features of this spring that made it possible to use private vehicles and also significantly reduced the number of trips by public transport."
He added: "In addition to increasing the volume of traffic, proper weather conditions such as more rain and wind, especially in the first two months of the year, helped to ensure that the air quality is relatively favorable on most days."
