The World Health Organization and Tehran Municipality are Expanding their Cooperation

The Deputy Mayor for International Affairs of Tehran Municipality hosted the representative of the World Health Organization to further plan for the expansion of the Iranian capital's cooperation with this international organization.

In addition to Christoph Hamelmann, the representative of the World Health Organization, the Director General of the Tehran Municipal Health Department also attended the meeting to discuss the common concerns and areas of cooperation between Tehran and the World Health Organization.
Zoheir Sabaghpour, Deputy for International Affairs of Tehran Municipality, said in this meeting: "Tehran Municipality manages many activities in the city, and we can use this cooperation to expand and globalize these activities."
In another part of this session, Zeinab Nasiri, Director General of Tehran Municipality Health Department, emphasized that Tehran Municipality is developing urban health indicators in Tehran in order to achieve a standard and ideal method for measuring the living conditions of citizens in the city in terms of health. "I think our cooperation with the World Health Organization can be positive in this area," she said.
Another social manager of Tehran Municipality also attended the meeting and spoke about the impact of international sanctions on Tehran's ability to supply equipment.
"The good news is that almost all of the activities that were mentioned at this meeting are all within the framework of global guidelines and programs," Christoph Hamelmann said at the meeting.
The representative of the World Health Organization emphasized: "My suggestion is to reach a final conclusion about the exact needs of Tehran in the field of health so that we know exactly what we should plan for."
He said: "The World Health Organization has limitations in terms of budget, but it is fully prepared to have more cooperation with the municipality of Tehran through the coordination of the Ministry of Health."
