Dr. Alireza Zakani officially started his work as the Mayor of Tehran by the order of the Minister of Interior.
Alireza Zakani, who was elected as the Mayor of Tehran by the overwhelming majority of the members of the sixth city council, officially began his work in the Municipality of Tehran by order of Ahmad Vahidi, the Minister of Interior on Thursday, September 2nd, 2021. Alireza Zakani, the new Mayor of Tehran, on his first day of work, paid a visit to Mahdi Chamran, the chairman of Tehran City Council, and then was presented at the Martyr's Ascension (Meraj Al-Shohada) to pay tribute to the high spirit of the martyrs.
Zakani has been one of the members of parliament with a 12-year history of representing the people of Tehran in the seventh, eighth and ninth periods, and was the representative of the people of Qom in the recent term. Alireza Zakani, with the vote of the presidium of the parliament, has been the head of the parliamentary research center since the beginning of the 11th parliament.
