Tehran’s Waste Reduction Project locally known as KAP has been introduced in a global event by invitation of by Metropolis Organization, UCLG, and collaboration of Soul Metropolitan Government within the framework of the Resilient city course. This global online event brought together Metropolis member cities to share with the participants their experiences and good practices in making their cities more resilient at the metropolitan level. According to the reports, the KAP project was presented by Dr. Sadredin Alipour, CEO of Waste Management Organization of Tehran Municipality, and was considered a successful, innovative, and remarkable experience that could provide a basis for creating a sustainable and resilient city by utilizing urban capacities. It is worth mentioning that the policies and details of the KAP project were previously published as one of the 413 top urban management projects on the official website of the World Metropolis Organization. Also, the KAP project report was shared on various platforms including the Metropolis’ Community News, News Feed, Twitter, and the main page of Use Platform. The KAP was chosen as one of the top projects and best practices to take part in this webinar due to the multifaceted nature of the project and the fact that it covers several objectives of the sustainable development plan. Government officials and members of UCLG and Metropolis were among the participants. One of the main goals of this webinar was to increase the ability to build resilience through the capacity of individuals, communities, institutions, businesses, and systems within a city and region to survive, adapt, and grow no matter what kinds of chronic stresses and acute shocks are experienced.
