18th International Exhibition of Flowers, Plants, Park Equipment and Related Industries

The opening ceremony of the 18th International Exhibition of Flowers, Plants, Park Equipment and Related Industries on Saturday, May 17th was held in the permanent location of specialized exhibitions of Tehran Municipality with the presence of the Mayor of Tehran, Deputy of International Affairs of the Municipality of Tehran, Deputy of Urban and Environment Affairs and a group of ambassadors and representatives of different countries.


Alireza Zakani in this ceremony, while thanking the efforts of 15,000 producers in this exhibition and the presence of representatives and ambassadors of different countries who are the consolidating export route of the flower and plant industry, said: The field of flowers and plants has a long history for Iranians so that the branch of Dariush in Persepolis indicates a 2500-year-old culture that refers to the beauty and relaxation of flowers.

He continued: "Paying attention to the climate and this culture and the fact that the country has 4 seasons and the existence of more than 8,000 plant species and 15,000 productive complexes in Iran is important; According to the statistics of 2018, Iran is the 17th largest producer of flowers and plants in the world, but we are the 107th country in the export sector, and this shows that we have a long way to go and we must recognize the capabilities and facilitate the transfer of these capabilities. It is serious in this regard.


The Mayor of Tehran, stated that we are facing an industry that needs development, work, effort, and transformation based on knowledge and recognition inside and outside the country, continued: We hope this exhibition is a prelude and a step to increase its past speed more and make our resources available to domestic and foreign audiences beyond today and yesterday.
At the end of the ceremony, the Mayor of Tehran and the accompanying delegation visited different parts of the exhibition.
